Kids say the darndest things

What made me happy today? Kids say the darndest things.
During lunch today, the conversation was about kids and the funny things they say. I just wanted to share a few of the gems I overheard with you all. It made me laugh so hard!

Kid: 'Mom, where was I before I was born?'
Mom: 'Well, you were an egg.'
Kid: 'Was I a fried egg?'
Mom: '*speechless*'
Kid: 'What was a doing as an egg?'
Mom: 'Well, you were waiting for a little seed.'
Kid: 'To eat?'

Kid: 'Mom, if I was an egg and my sister was too, how come I never saw her there?'

Kid: 'When are you a grown up?'
Mom: 'When you are married.'
Kid: 'So does that mean that auntie isn't grown up yet?'
Mom: 'Eh, no.'
Kid: 'But you said you're grown up when you're married. Auntie isn't married.'
Auntie: 'I'm not married, but I get to babysit you, so I'm a grown up too! You don't have to be married to be a grown up.'
Mom: 'Eh, yeah, that's true.'

Kids can say the funniest things, what's the best thing you've ever heard a kid say / said as a kid?

What made me happy today? Spending some serious quality time with my goddaugter.
She's so precious :-) she recently started to walk and is starting to talk as well. The words she uses most are car, and dad.
She is almost 15 months old, and a very happy kid most of the time. She makes me laugh, and of I'm feeling sad she'll always cheer me up.
Basically, I love her to bits :-) so it's nice I got to spend some serious quality time with her, my sister and my brother in law.
She makes me so happy :-)

Family

What made me happy today? My family.
We had our family's (my father's side at least) New Year's get together today. It was great.
I have a fantastic family. We get along pretty well :-) And it seems like the kids do to. Several of my cousins have children of their own, they were all there as well. And they played together so nicely! It was great to see how the bigger ones played with the little ones, even my goddaughter (my sister's baby girl) who's almost 11 months now.
We don't all see each other that often, but we stay in touch through FaceBook, email etc. My female cousins and I try to meet up once a year for dinner and an evening out, without the guys. We always have lots of fun, because we all like good food and laughing.
Sometimes I don't see my family as often as I wish. I live about 80 km away from most of them, but as mentioned before: long live modern technology! Plus, it makes the times when I get to see them a bit more special!
Even though we all have different lives and live in different places, we're connected through blood and each one of my family members holds a special place in my heart :-)
