What made me happy today? Work food!
I just came back from a company organised family BBQ. It was fun! There was a bouncing castle and a clown for the kids. For the adults, there was lots of BBQ food, drinks and a nice dessert buffet.
It was fun to see some of my coworkers outside of work. And surprisingly little conversations were about work! Even the weather cooperated, no more rain :-) And I got to introduce my boyfriend to some of my coworkers who'd been asking about him.
I had a great afternoon, I hope your Sunday was great too!

These are the days
What made me happy today? Having a great day!
Wow, I had an amazing day. Slept well, got to work early as there was almost no traffic. Then, around ten, an email came. It announced that one of my colleagues was celebrating her birthday and had brought strawberry mousses for everyone! Super tasty :-)
In the afternoon, pie was announced through email. Another colleague was working her last day and had brought pie! I had a piece of apple pie, really tasty :-)
My day was super productive, so my boss let me go home an hour early. I had already worked a lot this week, so she felt like I earned it. And when I came home, I found a note in my mailbox, saying that a package had arrived for me. So I headed to the post office to pick it up. When I opened it, I found a note inside, thanking me for my order :-D
Now, I gotten more notes in packages, so it's not the first time that that happened. But this one is special, because it's hand-written. Awesome! Thanks Luci Daum design :-)
Now I'm going to unwind by doing a Star Trek Voyager marathon. If you don't hear from me again, I'm lost in the Delta quadrant ;-)

Lay down your burdens
What made me happy today? Being able to finally lay down some of my burdens.
And it applies to both my professional and personal life!
I've been feeling a bit stressed lately at work. I have recently been promoted and I have to learn a lot of new things. Luckily, I have a great boss and great coworkers. They're always willing to listen to my questions, provide me with guidance, help or anything I need. So it felt good to be able to tell my boss a bit about being worried about some things I know I cannot possibly do on my own yet. Good thing she completely understood and reassured me that I'm not on my own. Which really helped.
About two moths ago I wrote a blog about changes. After taking a lot of small steps towards something I really wanted to change, I finally managed to have a break-through this weekend :-) I'm not going to divulge what it was, as it's very personal. But I'm just happy that I finally found the strength within myself to change. And it makes me hopeful about my future! It may take time to change the things I want to change, but a lot of small steps and time and I'll get there. I just need to stay positive, keep believing in myself and then I can do it :-)

Venting
What made me happy today? Being able to vent!
Today was not a great day at work. Some things went wrong, were misunderstood or miscommunicated by colleagues. My stress level went through the roof, especially when I was informed I had to attend a meeting, one hour before the actual meeting. Add to that the fact that I'm transitioning from one team to another and also changing jobs (promotion), you can imagine that I was not a happy girl today.
Luckily I am blessed with friends who will listen to my rants, who will let me vent and cheer me up by sending me virtual hugs and / or funny pictures. And I'm happy to have those friends :-)
So thanks for listening to me, being there for me and cheering me up!

Support
What made me happy today? Getting so much support!
As you all know by now I'm taking a two week course. It's intensive. The days are long, it's mentally very tiring etc.
But luckily I get a lot of support from my friends, family and colleagues! I'm so happy about that :-)
As I've mentioned before, I live quite a distance from my family. But knowing that they're thinking of me, wishing me good luck and offering me to help when I need it makes me happy! I have a great family :-)
So many of my friends and colleagues have wished me good luck, and some colleagues have even offered to help me with questions and things like that.
It's great to know that so many people support you in your endeavours! That truly makes me happy :-)
