What made me happy today? I'm a superstar!
Lol, not really of course. But one of my managers did call me that.
I am currently working on two projects. Both of them had deadlines today. One project didn't have many problems, and if there were any, they were solved easily. The other project had a bigger issues. Things that urgently needed done, and being unable to reach to people that needed to do it. And so on and so forth. After what feels like a million emails, calls and text messages I finally managed to get a hold of someone that I desperately needed. I updated the manager about this and he said 'wow, you're the first star of the day'. Yay me!
After another big push, some creative thinking and a stroke of luck, I managed to pull in everything I needed for my deadline. Which I was very happy about. But the manager was apparently even happier, as he named me a 'superstar' and even told my line manager this :-) *does little happy dance*
Best way to end a month (and especially this week) full of work and stress. Now it's time for the weekend! Woohoow!

What's my age again?
What made me happy today? Compliments about how young I look.
As you may remember, a while ago I cut my hair short. But by now it was time to get it cut again. My hair grows a bit faster than average, so the cut was getting kind of unbalanced.
Once at the salon I started discussing the kind of cut I wanted with my hairdresser. So when she said that the idea I had was something a young girl like me could definitely pull off, I had to interject that I'm really not that young any more. Turns out she estimated I was 22 years old, tops!
This made my day! For those of you wondering, I'm actually turning 29 in September. Guess it's true what they say. Short hair really takes years off :-)
(the new haircut is pretty much like the old one, the front is just a bit longer and the back a bit shorter. Pics may follow if I ever manage to take a decent one from the back. Not as easy as it sounds...)

Compliments
What made me happy today? Getting high praise from my boss.
Over a year ago I decided to change careers and I haven't regretted it on bit. When I started my new job, it took some getting used to, because I never had done anything like it. But I tried my best, did what I could and got the job done. So when I see my hard work and efforts are noticed, it puts a smile on my face and makes me want to go that extra mile to get the job done.
Today I got to see the final version of my end-year review and it contained some pretty awesome compliments :-) Which is good, because compliments make me happy. Besides, in a month and a half I'll be taking classes for a promotion, and this boosts my self-esteem. Which in turn makes me more confident I can do it. And that's a good thing :-)
